We're constantly working on future stories but love to hear what you think about the food in each issue. Let us know your thoughts (be specific) and we'll see if we can incorporate your requests/suggestions into future issues.
What did you think about this month's food?
Did you make (or do you plan to make) any of the recipes this month? (if not, why?)
What stories/kinds of food would you like to have seen?
Do you have young children in your household? Do our recipes please your whole family?
What types of recipes would you like more of (Use specific examples, please)? One-dish, kid-friendly, ethnic (which type), desserts?
What are some of your favorite recipes we have published so far? Is there one in particular you go back to time and time again?
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. -Cottage Foods

I just gave my neighbor a extra copy of CL and she made the Coconut Creme pie in this months issue...she says it was wonderful!! She is quite the cook. I'd make it mayself but I'm not a fan of coconut. She love it so much she is going to get her own subscription of the Magazine.
I would like to see Kid friendly recipes..I have a 6 year old picky eater!! she only want hot dogs, mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. My 8 year old eats pretty much whatever I put in front of her. I cook out of a lot of the Pampered Chef cook books. They are simple and ingredients not hard to find.

I went back and looked at the recipes...I was tempted by the carrot-ginger scones, but haven't tried them yet. I haven't made many of your recipes, seems like they just don't jive with my way of life. I live by myself in a tiny house. When I have people over, we potluck or I have a big pot of soup that we all dip into. In the summer, we eat pizza out on the deck.
I like to eat seasonally and local as much as possible. We have great seasonal produce here in the Northwest; strawberries, peaches, asparagus, potatoes, etc. I garden and get stuff at the farmer's markets, as well as visit the U-pick places just west of here. Another influence in the Northwest is ethnic food--I love Asian, especially Thai. We have good Mexican food, different from southwestern style.
One-dish recipes appeal to me--things that I can make ahead and warm up when I get home from work. This winter I'm making soups that I can have for supper and also put in my thermos for lunch the next day. I don't eat much red meat, so vegetarian or poultry recipes are preferred. Healthy food is a priority for me--lots of vegetables and whole grains, not too much fat and sugar (although I am a sucker for cheesecakes and chocolate).
Thanks for asking!

We entertain A LOT! We have had house guests the last 2 weekends and usually have house guest about 20 weekends a year. We throw a big open house the first Saturday of December and do informal dinners throughout the year. Generally, I try to make things that are simple, like lasagna or a one pot french stew or homemade soup with a big salad. I don't want to spend all of my time in the kitchen while everyone else is in the living room.
This year my husband is doing 6 dinner parties with 6 people at each dinner - he is in charge of everything but the guest list. He thinks this will be easy to do - some big fancy dinner (sent him to cooking school last year for Christmas, now he thinks he's Bobby Flay!!).
I like to focus on the company and serve good food that people will enjoy and won't take away from my fun.
