Yesterday for Mother's Day I made the Lemon Pound Cake with Candied Lemon Slices from the April issue of Cottage Living. I followed all of the recipe instructions but I had too much batter for the loaf pan. While baking, the batter overflowed in the oven.

The cake was delicious. However, because of the overflow, one side was slightly damaged and not as pretty as I would like.

Did anyone else have any issues with this recipe?

I didn't make it but sounds delicious. Were the candied lemon slices hard to make?

No, it was part of the recipe. You put sugar and lemon juice and a thinly sliced lemon in a sauce pan. You reduce it by cooking 7 - 10 minutes. You pull out the lemon slices and put them on top of the cake. You then pour the syrup over the cake.
