Hi to everyone. I am new to the Cottage Community. I am an Interior Designer and my personal style is Country Victorian Cottage. My clients know me for my ability to help them define their personal style whether cottage or ultra modern.
I am looking forward to chatting with the other members of this group and to also help with decorating dilemas when needed.
Thanks for having me,

It was so nice to sign on this morning and see such nice welcome notes. I have visited all of your sites and have really enjoyed what I saw.
Greenoak, you asked about my colors and my style. The colors and the style go hand in hand as you think about those lovely Victorian rose gardens. Think about roses of yellow, deep burgundy red, paler berry, pinks, and even some lavenders mixed in for good measure. I also love some greens and blues to add a natural balance. What keeps this from being Garden Cottage Style is that the emphasis is on elements that have some basis in Victorian Cottage architecture evident in the cottages featured in books by Andrew Jackson Downing (1815-1852). The items selected can have an ecclectic feel as long as they have the graciousness of the Victorian Period in mind along with the feeling that they have been used and loved over time; as things are in any form of Country interiors. It is truly not High Victorian Style: no heavy velvet draperies or very dark wood here; rather a simpler more "folksy" interpretation of it. You almost want to break out the china and have tea. Which my friends and I often do. Hope that explains it for you. You can see examples on my website under my portfolio page. I am looking forward to being involved in more discussions soon.

Hi Y'all,
Great to be new, too! Y'all sound like you will be fun to bounce decorating ideas around. My style is eclectic to Willamsburg! I love color and hope white walls never return to my home!
