:D Happy Earth Day, Everyone! :D

Yes, it's true. I do hug trees. :p There's a huge 100-year-old Blue Spruce on our property that gets a hug every once in awhile, just because it is so amazing.

Recently I switched over to using baking soda and vinegar to clean house. Thought since it was good enough for my grandmother, it might work ok. It works better than ok - everything sparkles, smells fresh (yes, vinegar REMOVES odors!), I don't need a zillion cleaning products, I save money, and it's good for the environment. I know. You're asking 'Why oh why did it take you so long to get it?' I guess I really didn't believe it would work. Now I know.

So I'm exploring more 'green' websites. I discovered Earth Wear (http://www.earth-wear.com/) - they grow/make affordable organic cotton clothing.

Thought I'd start this thread to wish you all a Happy Earth Day, and ask if you know of more websites or things that you do that make a 'green' difference.

My kind of gal! Have you ever read MaryJane's Idea Book? I recommend it, it's one of my favorites. She ties it all in... responsible living, old fashioned home crafts, how to build an outdoor structure, camping with kids... you name it.

Web sites that might interest you:
www.eco-dent.com for dental floss treated with essential oils instead of petrochemicals.

www.countrsave.com and www.seventhgeneration.com
for nontoxic biodegradable laundry soaps and detergents

www.mrssterwart.com for a nontoxic biodegradable and enviornmentally friendly way to whiten your whites

www.nwei.org for The NorthWest Earth Institute. They offer classes or literature on Choices for Sustainable Living, Voluntary Simplicity, Discovering a Sence of Place, Exploring Deep Ecology, Globalization and It's Critics, and Healthy Children Healthy Planet. (I'm taing the Healthy Children class and will take the Simplicity one next ~ so far I'm loving it!)

Thanks, Lisa! The Country Save link didn't work - until I added a 'y'. :)

Have you visited Lehman's (http://www.lehmans.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=5996&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=673&iSubCat=674&iProductID=5996)?
