Mmm. I am surprised more people don't jump on the bandwagon and share their thoughts and ideas, too. The magazine has been very well received by all who post here, but with a few exceptions, it seems like most people have posted only a few times and never come back. :(

Hi Everyone,
I am new here. I just subscribed to the mag and I am very impressed, and look forward to using some of the great ideas I read about in the mag.

What I like about this mag is it is realistic, simple, comfortable decorating.
The rooms in the photos I seen look warm, cozy and inviting.

Cheers!
Ponygirl :)

I too enjoy the magazine and have eagerly awaited the next issue each month. :D Although I hate to admit it, the web site is rather weak :( I am sure as the magazine grows, so will the site :)

I've just purchased my first copy of Cottage Living and love it!
I've always decorated in this style because it makes me feel at home.
I hope to be able to visit the site often :).

RE: Where is everyone?

I have tried really hard not to post, because I have posted so much. :o Silly, but thinking...maybe if I just read, someone else will post. I hope it picks up soon.

Hi serenitymeadow, CC, Ponygirl, teachin, Hatboxgirl, and Tyler's Muse!

Someday, we'll have to ask each other how we came up with our user names!

It's New Year's Day, sunny, warm (34) and beautiful. Hope you're all staying warm. Maybe this thread will go away soon, cause new folks are starting to post. Happy New Year!

:)

Thanks for the greeting, Zuzu! I think the user name thread idea is a good one!!! I hope you don't mind if I steal it and start a new thread. Maybe it will prompt more people (lurkers especially) to post. :p OK, so here goes...

I just re read my first issue of CottageLiving.........LOVEIT..... and I am looking forward to the next issue. The premier issue is the only one I have. I live most of the year in Baja Mexico in the City of La Paz, and have to wait until I make a trip to the states to buy magazines. My daughter is saving the 2nd issue for me and I am flying up next week........gotta see those grandkids!!
Just dropped in to let everyone know how much I love this magazine. I don't live in a "cottage".....it is more of a "casita" ....that is "little house" in Spanish. I have gotten several good ideas for our place from the 1st issue and I am really anxious to get my hands on the next one. :)

Just discovered that Cottage Living has forums on their website. This magazine is my current favorite since it's really real & has wonderful ideas for small spaces & older homes vs re-doing McMansions like most other magazines. Hope to get to know you all better. :)

Hi Zuzus Garden and everyone else,

I feel like Zuzus - that I'm blabby. I wish others would post. So tell me why you chose your "names". My last name really is Blessing. My husband is Dutch. I have a son named Tyler. I like the connections in life. :D

Hi Guys:
I am new to this web-site. I stumbled across it. Maybe that's why it's not busier, you can't be found! Ya think? I am glad I found you, I am currently, for the VERY first time in my life decorating my little/bungalow/house. I never had an interest before, now I am starting to get into it. Please all be there for me, because I am not too sure about what I'm doing. Thanks Linda

Hi connimac - I'm not sure what you mean when you say you entered your signature incorrectly. What do you need help with? (Fun sig by the way!)

Hi Ginger - we are happy to see you here. I'm not the official welcome committee, but it's fun to "meet" new members!

Hi blessingshappen - You should add your little user name story to the user name thread that ccquiltr started! It's a great name, and it also reminds us that blessings really do happen.

Welcome Afirst228 (Linda) - write away. We love to talk cottage decorating! :)

I just love the magazine and can't wait to get the next issue. I also save them all and reread them as new ideas come into play for another renovation idea. My poor husband and my renovation ideas.

I also love the recipes. I just made the sweet potato and chicken soup. Warms you through and through. It was very easy to make too!

Hi all,
This is my first time on. I didn't know they had a forum until now. I am looking forward to chatting. I like many styles but I have to admit that Cottage is probably my comfort zone.

Just a bit about myself - I love container gardening and I am an avid mystery reader. I also love to read good stories by some of the great Southern authors of the day. I have a son in elementary school who is my pride and joy and I work from home in public relations.

I am sure this forum will get busier once more people know about it. I am looking forward to sharing and learning from everyone.

Hi Mari'

I just read all 9 of Monica Ferris' murder mysteries. She writes about a small town needlework shop owner who also solves murders. Welcome to the forum. For everyone "East" hang in there, I hear there is a bad snow storm coming. You won't believe this, it hit 70 degrees yesterday, 1/20/05, and I live in Denver, Colorado. Stay warm! :D

Hi blessingshappen,

I love your name.
I haven't read any of Monica Ferris'. I just finished Islands by Anne Rivers Siddons and am starting on Thyme of Death by Susan Wittig Albert. There is a great website for mystery readers called "Stop Your Killing Me. It's at www.stopyourekillingme.com :)

I know what you mean about the weather. I just spoke with my sister who lives up north, they are expecting 10 - 12 inches of snow. I am not a cold loving person so I'm happy not to be there. I'm more of the 'warm in the garden, sitting on the porch, drinking ice tea type'.

But for all you who are expecting weather...be careful, stay warm and have some hot chocolate.

I guess I'm one of those people who started posting then left, but I'm back now, and I hope this forum starts getting some "Hot topics" started soon!
I am surprised there aren't more "Hot topics" on this forum by now.

C'mon ladies and guys lets get this forum going so we don't lose it cuz of lack of interest.

Hi mckenzygirl,

I think we will get more interest with time. The Southern Living message board started slow too from what I have heard.

I know right now I don't have any home projects going because I am getting ready for taxes and doing my yearly cleaning out. I already have 10 bags to go to Goodwill and have already shredded about 6 bags of paper. I guess I should be keeping up during the year.

I am, in my spare time, planning what I will container garden this year if I don't end up moving when my son's school year is over.

I have already told a few people I know, who are cottage traditionalists, about the board here. Maybe some word of mouth will help.

Have a wonderful day! :)
