Hi all, I just discovered this site while checking out the Cottage Living Website! I left the medical office field after 17 years last April to start my business; the re-styling of vintage and even throw-away items. Many call it "salvage chic" or "flea market style", and I love it! I rarely pass up throw-aways, even things I've seen on the side of the road! I love finding new life in things people were going to toss out. Two of my favorite flea-market queens are Sue Whitney and Ki Nassauer, they can make something out of anything! My re-designed creations are then sold in shops where I rent space. I'm not making much money yet, but I'm having a wonderful time! You can visit my website, thecottagegardensc.com, if you're interested to see what I turn out. I look forward to making friends with other cottage industry owners!

Hi,
I have left a career as a decorator /seamstress to care for my daughter, who has gone through some pretty traumatic illnesses:(. I tried to be parnters in a small antique shop, but soon found that was not the right fit.:eek:Soon, I discovered many vintage needlepoints that needed rescuing, so I started a business make pillows from the needlepoints using the decorator silks and trims that I love so much. I am working on a website now. At last I am working the hours I want and enjoying what I do.:)
