So, who else is dieting in preparation for spring/summer, swimwear, romper, sun-dress season?

Maybe it is my age and I should just learn to live with it (grrrrr) but it seems most women get to a place where they are suddenly "round". As it happened,
simultaneously, I quit smoking, reached "that" age and discovered foods I had never approached before.

There is a commercial on TV featuring a women who says, "I went from a 10 to a size four." If I could reach through the television this skinny, um, witch would be in danger. What I wouldn't give to once again be a 10.

So, here I am, in search of high taste/low calorie foods that will boost my sagging metabolism. What I want is that miracle Don't-even-know-I-am-dieting diet.

Any suggestions? Sympathy? Favorite cheater foods?

Just remember Jenny-You're in shape-Round is a shape! As a 52 years old woman I find it increasingly hard to lose weight. Used to be able to do it relatively simply by cutting back a little but that just doesn't work anymore.

"Do not feed the elephant" Oh, you make me laugh! I used the Atkins Diet a few years back and had a lot of sucess ~ I lost 45 pounds in 4 months. Unfortunately, I didn't follow Dr. Atkin's advice on maintenence and gained some/most of it back.

I dunno, I love to look good in a sleeveless blouse, but in the long run who cares as long as you're healthy. :p Good job on the smoking! I quit 15 years ago and I know what an accomplishment it is. Great work!

Hi Jenny,

I'm with you, but I'm losing 20 lbs for health reasons. I've cut way back on sweets, am eating fish at least once a week for dinner, am eating more fresh fruit and veggies, and actually reading the labels and looking for heart-healthy products. I'm in it for the long haul, so I'm also following doctor's orders to walk 20-45 min 3x a week. The walking is getting so boring, I'm starting to run the uphill part and pant home downhill. :p

Good knowing I have a buddy to lose weight with!

Oh -- I am in lovely lovely dieting company. I am so glad to hear I am not here alone.

I can't even kid myself that I am dieting for health reasons -- if that were the case I'd call it a day right now. I am healthy. I am strong. I feel good. Fact of the matter is, I want to look good in a sun dress one more time. It's that simple. :p
