Good day to all. When I was abruptly ousted from the corporate world, I decided my artwork would have to help with the bills...so, I started posting my work on Ebay and have had great response worldwide. The subject of most of my work...guess? Cottages....yes, cozy deco cottages reminiscent of British pottery designer Clarice Cliff and deco illustration styles popular in the first half of the last century. My customers talk about the amazing emotional response they have with my paintings. I am not so sure it is totally my technique. I believe there is a heartstring tugging from the concept that a cottage represents. A cottage is many things...both in reality and the imagination. A cottage represents a haven, a snuggle in and don't worry about the upholstery environment, family, warmth and the grounded feeling that simplicity can evoke. These are the elements that folk find appealing in my work. We all should have a cottage...real or imagined to return to in the evening. Take care all cottage lovers. Alida

I love how you described what the cottage represents. There is truly something about that word that brings comfort. With the crazy world in which we live in so many are trying to find comfort in their lives. I belive that we have to create that special place away from the world in our homes. A place that brings peace and comfort to us everyday as soon as you walk in the door.

Post your website so we can view your pictures. Or post your Ebay site so we can view them.

P.S. Aren't you glad you were ousted from the corporate world?

Karin
