I went into a beautiful shop while I was in Texas this summer. I was blown away by a large scale dresser and mirror painted turquoise and then distressed. It was bold and beautiful. It looked wonderful with the brown leather and cowhide that was displayed with it. While it seemed very "Western", it got me to thinking about trying new colors...

Ann -
I am about to redo my living and dining areas. Want more color - intense but bright, pinks, greens, salmon, turquoise. Have moved away from the jewel tones the last 5 years or so and just want fun colors!!!

i hear you on the colors...thankfully i dont have to choose just one combo....but i love the key west, tropical, almost haitian colors...turquoise, bright coral, deep pink, yellow.....i got some wonderful old tin flowers in those colors this spring and they all sold......they are on the blog...in may probably.........
my trouble is i like too many things....at home im into good woods and antiques, at the cottaage i get to have the neat painted stuff, mostly white, but a crusty shabby white.....and at the store i get to do whatever !!!
my customers really like our white cupboards....they can blend in with a lot of diffferent styles...lots of girls are picking white tables and black chairs.....
i havent tried much of the bright colors on big furniture ...yet!!!
now , for business, i think i should learn the amy butler colors....????
i have a lot of customers in their 30s and 40s....
