Cool Window grid screens? help me find them.

My cousin saw these awesome window grids when she was in Austin Texas cottage district. The are attached by hinges to the outside of the window. They are like screen doors in a way. My contract has ordered custom grids to go on the inside of my windows However I would much rather have something exterior. Help.

Those window grids are great! You may be able to commission a welder or metals artist to create some exterior ones for your home. Another resource would be a local vocational/technical school - perhaps they have a welding student that could help. Also, you mentioned that you ordered some grids for inside your windows - which company sells them? I'm interested in copying a similar look for my home. Those look like customized grills. Grids are usually placed directly to the window glass. Below site gives you an idea. Yes, a very sharp look.

Take a look at this one and you can see that they are primed and painted wood grids attached to screen and a frame with hinges. Just love it. I bet they could be made. might not even be that hard to do yourself.
