Ladies, Rex (and any other males that might happen by)

I have missed you all!! My last couple of months have been more like a train wreck that refuses to come to a halt than anything I could have ever imagined. My work load has nearly doubled (new clients and my main client has been in rehab for nearly two months meaning I am running her business) and I have had precious little time for anything else.

Told my husband when I picked him up today that I wanted/needed to get caught up with all of you and share my wonderful trip to Louisiana and my day with Memmey. (Go to my blog for more info.)

For those of you who have wondered about Ms. Mem - she is PERFECTLY wonderful. My BFF and I LOVE her! I have wanted to spend more time in Louisiana to spend time with my best bud, Linda - but now I need to spend more time with Linda and our Mem. Linda is probably going to dump me for Mem!!! If I wasn't such a fan of Mem's, I might be jealous - I heard Linda tell her husband and several friends how much she enjoyed being with Mem, how wonderful Mem was, that she couldn't get over how kind, thoughtful, talented, sweet Mem was. It was like a Memmey lovefest!!!:p

Anyway, I hope to get back on track with what has happened here the last 6 weeks or so.

I've missed a wedding (but have peeked at photos - wow! what a day), missed major events in your lives, missed hearing about your day to day trials and tribulations and just plain missed you all. You guys are the best and getting to have some one on one time with Memmey just reminded me of how special each on of you are!!!!

If you clicked the "new posts" thread when you first logged-in, you probably found my Summer Updates (sorry I fell off the face of the earth manifesto) - - so, I'm right there with you. It sounds like you are incredibly busy; I am also thrilled (and maybe jealous) you got to meet Memmey. Anyway, it is very quiet around here. I posted a little today and Chyna chimed in - - yippee. I'm still waiting on the rest of the gang. Plus, there seem to be some new faces (names) around the boards; so, it may be just about time for one of our question posts, or a who are you and what are you up to around your house, or whatevers ... we'll see if we get the gang all here in the next few days. (I missed the wedding as well ... but wow ... aren't the pictures lovely - - you can just see Gigi's personality in her home and kids!) Okay, talk to you soon ... welcome "home".

Cheapdiva~ Your post warmed my heart...and I am sooooo darn jealous you & Ms. Memmey met. What a treat that must of been for both of you! I have been lucky to Ms. Lisa S. & her handsome husband in the beginning of the year. It's funny because even though most of us have never met, I consider so many of you close friends.

I hope you get some needed rest~ you sound so busy.

Many hugs

"Handsome husband" ~ that's so sweet of you! (My daughter says 'that's so sweet of you!' all the time.) We had a great time meeting you too, Gigi. :)

Miss Maria, we're glad you're back. I think we're all here, right? Deep sigh. It's good to have everyone in their spots.

Let's get on with summer! I'm ready for the sunshine, the berry picking and the pool ~ how 'bout you?

It has been a crazy couple months hasn't it?! Welcome back and I didn't forget you and those seeds. I've had them sitting on the child's organ staring at me accusingly for weeks now. :o

hey gals! Glad to hear everyone is doing well, even though busy! I've been busy too - with work and job-hunting and getting ready for my sis' wedding! Tonight I'm going to the dirt track races to watch my husband race. It's one of his favorite things to do, and I must admit I enjoy watching all the races. I'm glad that this should be the first warm evening at the track - with the races starting in April it's still really chilly up in those stands after dark! Now if only the wind won't blow the dust in my direction I'll be just fine! ha!

My sunflower stalks are getting on up there - one is I'm betting almost a foot high - I really didn't know they could grow that fast! we are afraid insects are getting at them, so we bought some all-natural insect spray for plants. hopefully it'll help. I might need to water them more - I only get around to watering 2 times a week. What do yall think?

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Oh, that's marvelous. But, of course, we all KNEW Memmey was wonderful.

I was wondering how the visit would turn out. This is great to hear.

I know what you mean about all of the work, Diva- I've been crushed myself up until today. A few writing projects for my job were keeping me totally immersed. Now it's like a brand new day has dawned. :)

Here's hoping things go better for you!

Wishing all my Cottage Living friends good things this summer. :)

Hey all of you...I'm NOT that nice. My avatar is the name sake my family gave me when I was young. Remember she tricked poor ole Charlie ALL the time.
I have been gone lately and I did not chose to burden everyone here with this but I just put PaPa ( my Dad) in a nursing home Thursday. He had a stroke about 2 weeks ago and he is paralized on his left side. I know that my Sister and I are not the only people to go through this but it is a first for us. He is miserable and mad and uncomfortable. He is not in the moment all the time and has no sense of time. He calls the nurses all night long and says that they don't come. I could go on and on but I have to leave this alone for while, it is all consuming. These things have a way of working out, but I am about 3 hours from him and my Sister is 4 hours away. We are in for a long haul....

I'm glad to see everyone back in place too. I missed you all very much.
I wish you could all meet Maria she is so clever and smart, I had one of the nicest days with them.

Memmey, I remember how my grandfather and my great-aunt were when we could no longer care for them any more ourselves, full-time (grandpa was wandering away, etc.). It's very difficult. Especially when you only want their health and safety, and they don't remember that you spend time with them, or that people do care. Very, very difficult.

You have my sympathies.

PS- I have no doubt that Maria's a gem, too. :)

Aww, Mem ~ that's hard. We went thru something similar with my grandma and I know the ends and outs of the situation. It's just crummy. There's just no easy way out of life, is there? My best to all of you. We have good strong shoulders here at the forum...

Hi Mem, sorry things are so rough right now. It is such a hard thing, but eventually we all go through it. It was a lot like this with my grandma.

I'll be keeping your situtation in my prayers.

A lady who used to work with me here husband had many mini strokes and just from her stories I don't envy you a bit! Butch would do and say some pretty bad stuff, she ended up moving back near family just for support because she couldn't do it alone. The drs there did put him on some sort of medication which has improve things. Sure is a shame that this had to happen to PaPaw, you and your sis.

Got no uplifting words for you except we're here for you. And you are a nicer person than you think. **;:p

Hi Memmey, I'm sorry for your troubles. It's heart-breaking, I know. I am three hours away from my dear Gramma, and can't be with her as much as I want as she slips away.

My thoughts are with you, and I send hugs.
