Okay all of you book readers . . .
it's time to get serious here and do a little planning. I am taking the lead on our next book A Year By the Sea by Joan Anderson. Please go to the last bookclub link to get more info on this book about an everyday woman who decides to make major changes in her life.

You have until April 13th to get the book and read it - I will post questions on the 13th. This book is done in 12 chapters - one for each month and is a quick read. It is in trade paperback and can be found at the library.

I think it might be a good idea to have those interested sign up to lead book discussions and as a leader, you get to pick the book. Since all of our lives seem to be chaotic, crazy and whirling past us I am setting up some dates for discussions (bossy, aren't I ;)) - So please, take a date and if you know what book you want us to read, go ahead and fill it in. Some of us may have read the book and want to refresh our memories, some us may want to pass on a particular book and some of us might want to read ahead.

So without further ado -
May 27th

July 7th

August 18th

September 29th

November 10

This gives us about 6 weeks between books. We won't do one over the busy holiday schedule.

Comments, suggestions, wish I wasn't so bossy!!!???

Okay ladies -
First, I apologize for not staying on top of this. Things have been very hectic for me in the last month and I am WAY behind on so many things. But I am bound and determined to get caught up this week and next.

So - did anyone read the book? If at least 2 or 3 of you read it, I will post questions later today and get the discussion going.

Who read it?

I have it, and am partway through it.

It's pretty easy reading, but I am digesting it slowly. It is hitting some of my middle-aged woman buttons, and I want to reflect on this book instead of devouring it.

I have not read the book yet......but I do have intentions on doing so!!!

I just finished an excellent book by Ann Pancake. It is a novel about 3 generations in rural West Virginia and strip mining. Title is: Strange as the Weather Has Been. I know strip mining and mountain top removal is horrific, but this book provided me with an education about this type of mining in a slow, stick with you kind of way.
