right now, typing or viewing this site? So often I will see one or two of you on at the same time I am (hi, Rosemary!!) and wonder where you are sitting and what you may be doing besides this - drinking coffee, waiting for a load of wash, etc.
So I think it might be fun to see where everyone communicates from. I have posted my office/sunroom before but for the newbies, here is where I am. I love this room - small, about 7x10 but has windows on 2 sides, french doors into the living room and a doorway into our bedroom. I love the color - sunflower that I copied from the December 04 issue of CL and it is a very comfortable space. I can literally work for hours in this room - I used to have my office in part of the living room - facing a wall. Hated it, but love it here!
So let's see where you are when you are "talking" to us!!

Hi cheapdiva! What a great space you are in!! I love those windows. I don't thinkg that I could ever live in a house with small windows!
My space is much smaller than yours~I'll post a pic when I get the 'picture' wall finished.
And, what am I doing? I'm waiting on a load of laundry to finish:) !

I've posted my office before when I challenged myself to clean it up but now I have "messed it up again". Spring cleaning is almost here.
I thought I would post where I am when I'm not here typing my sweet friends. Here is the modern version of a Steele Magnolia beauty salon...LOL:D

It is a very small building, I have another room as a workroom to mix color and highlights etc. I have the cd player and my supply cabinet and one dryer in there for the 2 ladies I do that get their hair rolled on rollers...only 2 left and the generations change..LOL This is where I am Tuesday through Friday. Sometimes it feels like the work house but mostly I am very grateful to be at home working.
By the way if you notice it is not anything like my house. I understand the style but I don't want to live in it 27/7. Did you see how we made the walls look like stone?

Oh Mem, I would love to come have my hair cut there! I like what you did with the walls~it has a nice old fashioned feeling:) .
You know, my very best friend when I was growing up had that very same dresser and chest of drawers in her bedroom!

That is nothign like I imagined it! It is very pretty. How did you do those walls? Venetian Plaster? If so I hope my kitchen wall comes out that good!

Is sunflower a tannish yellow color? that is alot of what I was thinking for my kitchen. I think.....
I'm at work avoiding entering invoices. And answering the phone as backup. Nothing even half as glamourous as your places. Blah blah blah city.:(

Chyna it is actually sheet rock mud thinned slightly. You trowel it on in sweeping strokes. You can't see it in the pictures but we made fake exposed brick. Like the plaster fell off. It looks real. I will try to get a picture of them. Anyway you paint a base color and then you use a rag and apply the ochre color and then gold. It takes for ever.:{ I think it is dramatic and OK for a business but you would really have to stay on theme if you used it in your home. My friend was the lead person for this project and she is very talented. I was the assistant. There are artists that do this for you and you pay by the square foot  . It is too dramatic for me but like I say it is a business and not a home sooo I think it is OK.
There are alot of people who come into that little salon and it is holding up pretty well.
Oh I'm painting the outside bright red like the house this spring. I think it will really colorful then. whuu whoo

Memmey - what darling space - I wouldn't expect any less!!
Chyna - here is a better picture of the color - look above the shelving to get a truer tone. One of the reasons I love this color is because it changes throughout the day. Right now, late afternoon it takes on a brown undertone, but during the height of the day it is more yellow looking. It just makes me happy!

It's so pretty, that room gets such good light. Is it cold in there with the winters you have?I believe the windows up North must be double insulated or you wouldn't make it in the winter. I just love windows with lots of light. That looks like a good reading room. Is that a New orleans Jazz type print? :)

Oh Memmey, how cute-- your salon is all art deco waterfall furniture, I love it! It's got such a warm tone to it.

How fun to see your spaces! Cheap Diva, I love yours! And Memmey, I'll be over in a minute to get my bangs trimmed...
Here is the clutter corner of the Wee Shack. Someday, when I have a proper studio, this will be the dining area. Right now, I am procrastinating on my taxes, working on watercolors of budding twigs, preparing to do bright watercolor notecards with preschoolers, and some writing. The dog is snoring on his bed in front of the stove, the cats are sleeping on the couch, and outside there are about 20 evening grosbeaks at the bird feeder. I'm still in my jammies (which are purple plaid) but it's high time to get moving for the day.

I like your space, Deb~it's so light, it must be a wonderful spot to work on your art! It doesn't look cluttery to me~looks pretty organized:) ! Hmmm, no pic of you in the purple plaid PJs:lol: ???

So that is where the notecards originate from. Lots of artsy creating going on it that cozy little corner. Please go kiss that old dog for me.;) :)

Hi, what a great place to spend your online time. I will post one of my desk (as soon as I give it a good tidy up! Great idea by the way! Cheers

Deb - it looks like your kind of spot and mine too!!!
Mem - the painting is an original by an artist named Mutope Johnson. He lives here in Milwaukee and is pretty well known in the midwest. It was our X-Mas gift to each other 2 years ago. I would love more of his work but it is pricey.

I'm posting a pic for the first time, so we'll see how this works.
This is what I see from my big comfy chair, while I'm on my laptop.
The pup's name is Max, our Aussie cattle dog. The other pup is hiding somewhere (our chocolate lab pup named Abby).

Whidbey5...I love your use of color, and the art above the fireplace.
Max is adorable, and smiled so nicely for the camera! :)

And yet another dog/cat who has snuck into a pic. I swear they are like house brownies, always lurking about.

Love seeing all the office spaces! I'm going to try to post a pic of my space at home (most of the time, like now, I'm at work, but it's not "decorated" to my taste - lol - although there is a pretty bouquet in my windowsill!).
Cheapdiva - love all the windows! I would be so happy in a room full of windows! My home office has 2 windows but my desk faces a wall!

Thanks, all. Max is a cute one. He is, however, terribly protective. Heaven help anyone who dares walk in front of our house.
The red in the picture is a little off as is the rust color in the slate around the fireplace. They really do match better than the picture I posted shows!
The art work is a picture taken by a photographer on the island. It is the coolest refelction of boat masts next to wooden boats at a dock. At first, people think the picture has been hung upside down!
It's fun to see where everyone hangs out! Keep posting pictures!

Here's a pic of my home office space. I'm hiding the rest because it's so cluttered! I actually don't like clutter, but I procrastinate filing things away! I also have an old dresser in my office but right now the entire top is covered in papers! I'll post a pic when I get it cleaned off.

What a fun thread! Thanks for sharing your pix, ladies. We are finishing off our basement ourselves and just finished sanding today, so, alas, I have a white coat of dust on just about everything! Spring cleaning will take on a whole new meaning this year. With the downstairs will come a new office/workroom area for projects. The wainscoting on the bottom of the walls will be painted in a warm off-white and "soft moss" on the top. Perhaps I can send my pix when that office, complete with newly dusted computer, is done.
My computer now (complete with that coat of dust) is on a huge, overbearing, cheap desk (which will hopefully find a new home via our yard sale this year) surrounded with homeschooling books and music and markers and cords that go to and from who knows what and a lamp with a shade that is much too big for its base.
I love coming on here while sipping a cup of tea after the kids have gone to bed and before my honey gets home from work.
