greenoak - I looked at your store's website - I would love to visit there someday! It looks like just the kind of place my mother and I could spend a lot of $$$ in (if we had any)! In one of the pics on the home page there is a deacon bench/pew - how much is it? do you have any others? My mom has been wanted one for forever but it's hard to find one that'll fit in her space.

I love it! I've always been curious about your store, and would love to prowl through it. I'm always looking for "parts" too, but my favorites tend to be bits of cloth and paper.

We have magpies around here. They're really smart and resourceful, and have big attitudes.

Wish I lived closer to Indiana...

greenoak, love your site! I wish I lived close enough to walk through all those 'treasures' and see them for myself!

we dont really have magpies....but it seemed perfect...just the idea of dragging in all kinds of things and making do and then i found that old image of the bird and it looked kind of like it had a lot of attitude....
i hope you all find a good junk dealer with a good pile to go thru...i have a lot of good stuff too!!!
ive met one scrapper who taught classes on vintage scrap...she seemed real happy to find us, and got a lot....damaged paper was fine with her, and not worth very much on the antique market...so it was good for both of us...
that pew is gone...it was around 200$
this blog thing has made me learn a lot about my computer....it still doesnt make sense tho.....

Your blog is cute! And your store looks like such fun. We're in desperate need of some good old stuff to rummage through, this winter just goes on and on, so cold and snowy for flea markets. We've been thinking about driving further, it seems as though there are a lot more auctions in Indiana than there are in Wisconsin or Illinois, I couldn't believe the ads in the Antique Week for Indiana compared to Illinois where we mostly shop.

I'm jealous :)

Oh, how fun! I love all the tin and I got such a smile from your "Key West" room-- I bet your visitors forget where they are once they've been in the store a bit. And think they're in Margaritaville. :)

If I lived close to your store I would be a regular customer. You would be a weekly stop.:D :D

thanks..... we do probably like the same things!!
.....and its so neat to see the old stuff find new uses and new homes......i always think of my customers as a bit more interesting and creative than the average mall rat!!! or hallmark customer.... they are just kind of fun and into their own thing.... and never gripe if a part of the store gets piled up and messy....lol...
