With all the awful weather going on around the country and the emptiness of the forum, how is everyone? All safe and sound? We have just been windy up here and semis blowing off the interstate outside of Bozeman (wind gust are not uncommon around there). The rest of you seem to be getting pounded!

We have had some bad storms and there were some tornadoes a few miles north of us. I think one person in AR was killed in one of the tornadoes and I know a lot of other states have been having them. It is just a weird weather pattern, right now.
All those storms here came after 3 days of 70 degree weather--I loved the 70 degree part, but I can do without the storms.
Hope everyone else is doing okay--we are back in the 40s for today.

We've had some avalanches in the mountains which have closed a major hwy, but just 40's and rainy in dear old Portland.

Just about 50 miles from us they had tornadoes the other day - VERY bad. Made the national news. We had a ton of lightning, thunder and rain - which got rid of most of the snow. Yea! The temps are dropping today - had been upper 40's - low 50's. And of course, snow is back in the prediction.
But the sun is shining and at least it was a little break.

The weather men/woman keeps threatening us with snow but it has yet to hit. We were supposed to have had snow/rain by noon but here it is 4pm and just some dark-ish clouds. If we are going to have cold and wind the least we could get is some moisture. My poor shrubs and roses could use a drink.
Not sure how my weather relates to you all, I know Lisa's storms end up here but not sure if mine go north and east or south and east. Not sure the weather people know either. devious

I almost feel guilty saying this, but here in New Jersey, it felt like SPRING yesterday! It was nearly sixty degrees, sunny, and a little breezy. I had much to do indoors, but took an hour to rake a bit outside - I really needed to feel the sun on my face.
I did read that the weather's going to deteriorate here...so much for our January thaw! I even heard that on Sunday into Monday we may have some snow, but I'm not complaining. It was really nice to get a taste of the lovely weather that will be here soon! Spring is my absolute favorite season - a beautiful rebirth of everything outside!

spring? I've heard about it but we never have it. It truly goes from cold, wet, rainy with vestiges of snow washing away to hot. We do usually have glorious falls though - my favorite season.

My brother in DC said the temps got up in the high sixties after we left. At least here in Portland we're not fooled into thinking about an early spring.:D

Will it ever stop snowing? They are saying it's a La Nina winter, which means more moisture for us in the Northwest. We are having a lot of high avalanche danger this year, and I-90 is frequently closed of control. But there hasn't been a deep freeze, and the high winds off the Pacific haven't made it over the Cascades very often.
People seem to managing OK with the weather, but the flu is going around.

I don't think the flu has made it here, yet. Everybody seems to have continuous colds that they can't shake and there is a nasty stomach virus going around--one of those two or three day types.

The Rockies keep blocking our moisture. From the weather report it looks like the Western half of the state is getting lots of the white stuff and wet stuff but all we get is the cold and the wind. I guess the ski run is getting snow too, it is going to be a bad summer if this keeps up. maybe we'll get that endless rain we had last year. You know to get the weeds nice and big so they can dry out and burn.
