gardening help me!!

We have recently purchased a cabin on 50 acres of land in kentucky, i would love to spice it up on the outside but need plants, flowers, e.t.c that can go up to a week without flowers and will be in hot sun, any ideasdevious :rolleyes:

It's my experience that anything planted in containers won't survive a week in the sun without water. It's worth trying some of the self-watering pots from Gardener's Supply Company if you can also provide some shade.

Look for drought-tolerant plants that are native to your area. Other perennials that do well are russian sage, coneflowers, some salvias, agastache, achillea, artemisia...the best source I've found is High Country Gardens in New Mexico.

Both these places have websites and paper catalogs.
