Hi
I have just joined prompted by reading an item from SculptureGirl about Frederick MD! We are a transatlantic family contemplating a move back to the DC area after 10 years in my homeland (England - lovely countryside but very expensive to live - have never been able to get back onto the property ladder). We are prompted by better college options for our son , falling house prices and having a network of family and friends already in the area. We expect job wise to end up in the DC area but do not want to live back in the city (we used to live in Silver Spring). We like smaller town life, quick access to countryside but near enough to the big city with good public transport options as I choose not to drive. Frederick seems to fit the bill. What we do not want is to move into a modern development on the outskirts so names of neighbourhoolds within walking distance of the historical part and downtown Frederick would be a great help (online realtor sites are no help when you do not know the area).
Any info will be greatly appreciated - thanks!
