Greetings to all from sunny (soon to be HOT) St. Pete, Florida. My name is Kippy (a nickname for Allison - go figure...)
I just joined the community a few days ago and this is my first posting. I am a 43 year old mother of two, a daughter who is 15 and a son who is 13. Having spent some time reading through various threads posted, I feel a kindred spirit with the women here. I am a frustrated (read, untrained and self-taught) artist who enjoys all aspects of the arts. I love to decorate...my house, your house, anyone's house...I find such joy and fulfillment in pulling a room together, coaxing a home out of a house. I know that all of you here identify with the experience I describe, and I look forward to getting to know all of you.
Rubyslippers, what grade or grades do you teach? I was an English major in school so I identify with the whole "love of literature" thing...perhaps we could start an online bookclub here...
My home in Florida is a very standard one story, cement block, Florida ranch...barrel tile roof, stucco exterior, built in 1956. The house looks very standard from the outside, but the interiors reveal the personality of the family that lives here...for better or worse our stamp is on the place.
