I went to Whole Foods today. I believe that is the nicest food store. I find it kinda pricey but if you shop for just certain items then it's not so bad. Where I live is food heaven, we cannot go and eat elsewhere everyone comes here to eat and the kinda food we eat is killing us. Whole Foods is a breath of fresh air. This is my third trip and I mostly go for bread and cheese. I could go and blow my months wages in there in about 45 minutes. I know there are alot of these type stores around the US but this is our only one close so far. What an upscale group of shoppers...maybe I'll dress better next time I go..LOL I know I know it's a grocery store for crying out loud!:D

Memmey I wish we had a whole food store near us. We do have a few health supplement stores here in town and we are getting a Trader Joe's, which I love, to open about six miles from here. I did take a drive out of town today to a TJ and bought some nice healthy things. I have a condition that I've had to eat 30 grams of fiber a day and I've lost about 17 lbs. since last summer. The whole family is eating better now. Quite the change since I grew up in the 60's with all those "neat" new items, you know, twinkies, ding dongs, sodas and processed meats.((ICK!):p

I can't help myself I love Olive loaf the nitrates give it that certain touch that it needs, a pinch a chemical preservative and it's done.:D

We are fortunate to have all the lovely stores you have talked about . . . Whole Foods and Trader Joe's both came to our area within the last 6 months. Trader Joe's offers some wonderful foods very reasonably. Try their single quiches - about $2 and the 2 Buck Chuck wine (Charles Shaw winery) can't be beat for $2.99 a bottle. We do an open house every December and we stocked up on this wine . . . people loved it! They have an orange cranberry sause that I heated up and served over brie with crackers - people were ready to eat just the sauce with a spoon!
