I'd love to hear what you have in the kitchen and how often you use your favorite appliances. Also, what you love to buy for your kitchen that you don't already have?
blender
food processor
slow cooker
juicer
coffee makers
panini grills
others???

The food processor is a must for me, especially in the winter. I do a lot of creamy soups, and the processor is such a time saver.
I also adore the chopper I have - onions are a quick dice with no tears!
One of the best tools is a really good knife!
I love to cook and try out new recipes whenever I can - the more exotic, the better.
I would love a Kitchen-aid mixer!

My coffee maker!!! With a clock that turns it on for me 15 minutes before I get up each morning. And I guess my microwave would have to be a close second....I don't do cooking anymore!

In response to Ptmanan:
You say you like exotic cuisines--which ones in particular and which would you like to see more of?

Would definitely be my coffee maker with the timer. I couldn't survive without it. I'm also pretty fond of my slow cooker and microwave. Cooking is not my strong suit, but I love to collect kitchen gadgets and appliances. They look very nice on display in my kitchen but most have never been used. I'm not even sure what some of them are. :o

I no longer use small appliances.
I prefer the precision of using a knife & cutting board. A whisk & bowl. A percolator coffee pot on the stove.
I enjoy preparing meals more, they taste better, and clean-up is easier.
I can't think of anything that I would want to buy for my kitchen that I don't already have. Sometimes, I think what is supposed to make our lives easier makes them more complex.
Probably not the answers you were looking for, Kimsunee, but that's my little kitchen. :)

I'm not much of a cook. At this point in my life, it's not a fun endeavor; it's a chore. Someday, when I have more time... :p
I use my slow cooker all of the time. My best recipe is for roast beef with coffee and onion soup mix. Really. It's good.
My coffee maker... I love that sucker! It's such a luxury to set it up ahead of time and push the "go" button when I stumble out of bed. Those mornings are the best.
I have my husband's grandmother's hamburger press. That gadget comes in handy.
I really, really want a personal chef.

My most-used is my coffee maker! It does have a auto-start, but I hardly ever use it. My favorite appliance would be my Viking range that my husband and I bought for ourselves as anniversary gift when we remodeled our last house. We brought it with us to this house and it sat in the garage for a year until we remodeled this kitchen! I do love that thing!
I would love a kitchen aide mixer, but just to look at. I don't use mixers enough to actually purchase it - which is why I haven't!

Kimsunee ~ I love talking with other women! We learn so much from each other. No, I didn't know there was such a service. I checked out the web site and found that there are many personal chefs in my area. As a stay at home mom, I don't think I could/should utilize the personal chef service. But I saw that they do offer cooking classes and gift certificates... I would use both. I like to keep this kind of resource in my back pocket for the time when I do go back to working someplace else. Thanks!

I've discovered that the commercial rice steamers are the handiest gadgets in the kitchen. Of course you can make rice, but you can also make great steamed vegetables and much more in the steamer baskets. When baguettes or other breads start to dry out, pop them the steamer for a few seconds and they're soft again. Place tomatos in the steamer basket for a few minutes and the skins are easier to peal.

My faveorite kitchen gaget would have to be:
My Vita- mix!
I can do so many things with it. From making bread to making hot soup in it!
It does everything! Well almost everything!
Next would be:
My Miracle Blade knives set.
My son bought me the set for Christmas, and he took all my old knives(they were as old as he was, and he was 23 yrs old!) away, said I wouldn't never want these old knives back after using the new set.
He was absolutely right!

I LOVE my Kitchen Aid Mixer... it is definitely worth the money. I also love my cuisianart food processor. I have had it for years and use it for so many things! Of course my coffe maker is used everyday... I love curling up with Cottage Living and a cup of Joe!

My kitchenaide for sure, it is bright red!!. I love to cook. The next thing that I love is really not an appliance it is kitchen shears. You can cut up anything with a pair of scissors. I cut up my chicken into strips or pieces instead of using a knife, I cut up fresh herbs with my scissors, lots of uses for my scissors.

I love some of my gadgets, but don't use them very often. Love my yellow kitchen aid mixer and my cuisinart, but the most useful kitchen tools for me are my All Clad pots and pans and my Henckel knives. When we got married, I didn't need tons of household stuff, so we registered for top of the line stuff. So glad we got it, otherwise we might not have purchased it on our own. I do have some LeCreuset enameled cast iron pieces that I love to use for oven cooking too. I'd love to eventually have a viking range, but this is my dream stove:

That is the holy grail, baby!!

PS...anyone have $29k they could loan me, LOL!! Make it $129...I'll need to add a room onto my house for it!

Dang, that's some stove! I don't have a stick blender but I have a Kitchenaid that doesn't get used every day but it does a great job when it IS used. Love my Cuisinart & wouldn't be without it. No coffeemaker except for a small Mr. Coffee for company. I'm a tea drinker.
I have an electric kettle which is just a cheap heavy plastic water boiler & that gets a real work-out.
What are Miracle Blade knives?
