In the new November issue you have a Jeld Wen Advertisement backing up to the TOC page. I love that door. It says it's a Premium Wood French Door. But when I log on their website it isn't there. This the perfect back door for my kitchen. How can I find out more about it?  [FONT=Arial]

Did you email them? Maybe customer service would be able to help you in case it is a discontinued door or something. Not much help I know but that is the only answer I have.

Jeld Wen posts a door ad: Premium French Door. You look on their site and the closest you can get to it is under 'combination'. You have to contact them. They do have great doors on that site - ones pictured are usually stock. Ones out for publication are generally custom. That one is an antique style modernized. You do know that true wood doors, for exterior applications = maintenance. Why a lot of folks put glass storm doors fronting them. Building Supplies also have retractable 'invisible' door screens.
On this site - a post about pictures not showing the light cords. Similar - all looks simple/ideal in a magazine. Usually pricey instead or does that actually equal the same thing.;)

Alot of manufactures make steel doors clad in wood so you get the best of both worlds. Let us know what you find out about that door. Would be nice to find out if they have doors that aren't published online. It probably is a special order door but hey when it is perfect for what you want it is worth it. :D If you have huge concerns about the door being ravished by Mother Nature try the same type of poly that is used on boats. I know that the gang on my other site are always suggesting it, I'm considering it on my front door that leads from the porch to the livingroom and it is protected by the porch. After all the stripping I'll have to do on that door you better believe I'm going to use something that won't be coming off anytime soon. ;)
FWIW my parents have a wooden french door that leads from their livingroom to the deck and have never had a problem with it. Granted it is protected by the deck roof but until that deck went up it was exposed to cows, horses, deer and the weather. By the way they live close to the mountains.
