Just noticed there was a new area.
It looks promising from what I saw. Was on my way out so didn't get to take a good look but from what I did see it looked good. Will let you know what I thought next week. I have lots of reading to do this weekend. :)

My complaint last year was that there was much too much of the magazine devoted to their idea house and it seems that way again. At least they downsized this years house so that's good. Havn't had time to sit down with it much but will this weekend.

I think I can forgive them that since I could get ideas (hopefully) off of what they did and how they did it. My opinion could be different come tonight or over the weekend.
I did notice that they seemed to focus on the idea that it is smaller and therefore better. maybe they got so much flack before that maybe it is sinking in.:D

Well I read it over the weekend and all and all it wasn't so bad. HOWEVER of all the places they chose to show for travel Bozeman is the best you could come up with?! You want to see beautiful landscape and a great park try the Glacier area. Kalispel has great restaurants, lots to do. If you head up/over to the Whitefish area it is mountains galore. And fresh air you can't fault. If flying in is the problem Kalispel has an airport and so does Missoula.
Not saying that Bozeman is a bad destination but hardly worth gushing about.

I didn't get the magazine yet but I love Bozeman. We've talked about Bozeman before on this forum. Its a really neat college town and I loved it each time I went to visit. The best visit was my son's Graduation Day! Yeah!

I have nothing against Bozeman but there is so much more to this state than Bozo. My suggestion would be if you are planning on coming here to plan on more than a couple of days. This is a driving state, one must sit in a car for hours to actually see alot of this state. Wouldn't have killed them to mention some of the cottages around here either, though to be fair I think most places are Victorians or Queen Annes. If they had jumped into the car and driven west and up to the Helena area they could have seen some amazing homes dating from the logging era in Townsend. And downtown Helena is pretty amazing itself. The streets are a bit confusing but that area is full of neat little shops and houses.
I'm surprised it didn't rain on them. Every time I'm there it either rains or snows, I know I know it doesn't do that all the time (I asked my brother when he lived there) but I swear the place is constantly damp. And they didn't even go to the Pickle Barrel or Prairie Pies, if you are going to put the word out at least go where the locals and students go. As well as the sports bar/restaurants. I was excited when they said they went to Boz but found the article a letdown. Maybe it is because I'm from the area.

Bought the magazine today at Borders.......gonna read it this week-end and I'll let you all know what I think. It looks inviting from what I saw of the cover and just flipping thru pulling out all the ad's stuff.

I liked the article on Bozeman! I love Chico Hot Springs and what can be wrong with a town called Pray? The area is beautiful and I think it opened some folks eyes as to how pretty the state really is. Livingston is such a neat town too. But they did mention all the Californian's there and being a native Cali girl maybe that is the reason I was so fond of the article.

I was excited to see that a MT town was featured but I guess I felt let down since they just concentrated on such a small area. Hope people aren't too let down when they visit and see that there was a big wild/forest fire in the area of Livingston. We got hit pretty hard this season.:(
