We've added avatars

You can now display an avatar image with your postings. Click on the User CP link in the top navigation bar, then click on edit avatar. We'll be adding more avatars every months, or you can link to your own custom image.

Is the functionality in now to link to our own custom image? If yes, could you please list the steps to do it?

You can either upload or link to your own custom avatar. Click on the User CP link at the top-left of the forum page. Go to the link "Edit Avatar." Scroll down to the area called Custom Avatar. You can upload an avatar located on your computer by clicking the browse button, or link to an avatar URL. Your avatar must be 80x80 pixels or smaller (The built in avatars are 55x55) and are limited to 19k or smaller. Custom avatars work best if they are in the .jpg or gif format.

Hmmmm...feeling silly here. I cannot see "the area called Custom Avatar". I'm using a PC with IE5. All I see is the canned avatars, and an empty white box over the page navigation buttons. :confused:

Uh oh. I can't find the custom avatar area either. And I just found the coolest fireplace I wanted to use for mine. Guess I'll have to bookmark it & try again later. :(

Well, I finally tracked the problem down. Everyone should be seeing the custom avatar fields in the User control panel (User CP). I look forward to seeing your creative avatars.

Zuzu, I know what you mean. I can't make the avatars much larger, but I really want to see that cottage. How about it ChrisNH53, can you attach and upload a larger version of your cottage photo. Is that your home?
