Sorry to make such a fuss, but I have dropped by a couple of times to read posts and finally decided to become a member. I live in Orlando, FL in a 1945 cottage (not sure everyone would describe it as such, but I do). It's about 1192 sq. ft and has a detached garage.
I bought the house from a young couple who had purchased it to renovate and flip. Despite their best intentions, they weren't too sure of what they were doing. We've had to fix some mistakes and finish some of their projects.
I promise to learn how to attached pictures so I can share some accomplishments and current projects with you.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Thank you Cottage Lover and Nicole for your warm welcome! (Your consistently nice posts were part of what made me want to become a member.)
I loved your pictures Cottage Lover, that coffee table is terrific, and can't wait to see more of your house. I hope your recovery is going well.
Nicole, I had the chance to see the pictures you posted of your place. It is adorable and has style to spare!

Your sweet, thanks!:)
If you have any questions on posting pics let me know. I knew nothing about it before and took several tries.
The coffee table is a trunk and is really spacious for storage, makes it nice for games photo albums, whatever you don't want out that takes up space-and that is nice to have in a small space. I love the store Hobby Lobby, and I got that trunk half of there and new it would be perfect whitewashed and antiqued. It is very heavy and holds up well to two children's abuse;)
I am so glad you joined and can't wait to see your projects!
Hope you can post pics soon, I know we all can't wait to see your "cottage"
(Don't think our house is defined as a cottage either, but to us it is, it's all about what you make it, your personality and what works for you)Our house was built in the 1950s and we tried to go with the cottage theme because of the size, we love it, alot of people with a family of 4 would want a brand new big house, we like living in an older home -
Look forward to talking to you soon!

Welcome Boyd
By all means hang around and tell us your story. It is nice to bounce ideas and thoughts off of others who have a passion for the same things you do. Most the people where I work are in the newer is better class so when I tell a story of dumpster diving or getting something old at an auction/garage sale they look at me like "you poor child". :D

Thanks for the welcome Tanya!
I agree that it is nice to share ideas with others. Sometimes the smallest suggestion is all it takes to make your project a success. I have quite the assortment of pieces in the house: some new, some old, some new made to look old. It's definitely eclectic. I promise to never give you the "poor child" look!
